Viceroy released another “JetLife Remix” today of Will Smith’s 90′s ballad, ‘Getting Jiggy With It’. In typical fashion he blasts his summertime flare all over that tune… wait what?

This track has that trademark “summer time all the time” sound with some 90′s nostalgia. What can I say? I’m a sucker for it. I definitely enjoy this one, but especially the last 30 seconds. I would love to see an extended outro.

Summer Life

Another week, another Viceroy remix. Staying true to his mantra of summertime all the time, he ironically (sarcasm) remixed the track ‘Summer Life.’

It’s an upbeat and jolly jam that’s fit for a windows down in the car kinda moment. For all of you who have to drive to get to the beach, this should be played. Off to Mexico so I’ll post some more tracks Tuesday.

Only Takes

Another great weekend in the books. Tanlines crushed it this past Friday in SF  and we had great weather all weekend. The only thing missing was this summertime unicorn disco masterpiece released today by Viceroy.  The time around it’s an original track that’s been produced with WhiteNoize.

WhiteNoize consists of DJ and production team Chris Harnett and David Carvalho who make “electronic boogie music.” Seems like a natural fit with Viceroy especially since all of them are based here in San Francisco. Not only does this town attract world class talent, but it also has it as well.

I’ll be on the lookout for WhiteNoize from now on as I already plan to catch Viceroy the next chance I have. This track is available now on Traxsource: http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=search&ss=Only+Takes&sc=tracks

Also available on Itunes, Beatport, etc. May 7th.

Viceroy & WhiteNoize – Only Takes

Viceroy has been crushing it lately. He has been releasing track after track and every one has been a pure summertime pool party jam. It’s getting me excited for warm weather, good company, and great times. The simple and thought provoking lyrics that flow over thi summery jam are amazing. It especially hits close to home on this one.

“I’ve got a feeling we will never get closer than this…

I can’t imagine there’s a way to get closer than this.”

St. Lucia – Closer Than This (Viceroy Remix)

Viceroy, the man who reps summer time all the time, just released his eagerly anticipated remix of “Return Of The Mack” by Mark Morrison. First off, the original song is one of the greatest songs of all time. Viceroy, in typical fashion, turns this classic into an anthem that is perfectly suited for tropical weather, sunshine, and sheer happiness. It’s exactly why I was initially attracted to Viceroy when I first heard him some time ago.

It’s also a plus that he’s based right here in San Francisco. Perhaps living in a city which doesn’t actually have a summer has inspired him to created music that brings about that happy feeling associated with warm weather. Unfortunately, I missed my chance to see him this past Friday with another favorite of mine, Plastic Plates although I’m sure I’ll have another. The next time I won’t take so kindly to my previously scheduled plans. For now, along with all of you, I’m gonna enjoy this fresh tune. Happy Monday.

Spread The Love

So today is Valentine’s Day. While I do think it’s a crock that this day is essentially a corporate marketer’s capitalistic dream day in which they prey on those in love and those who are not, I don’t think it’s a bad day by any means. Girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife, single, etc… it doesn’t really matter. If anything perhaps this day can remind us to appreciate our friends and family whom always love us and that we in turn, should give that same love back.

I always hope that this world will one day have more love than hate in it. It’s a lot to hope for, but I will do my best to ensure my personal world and those around me will be engulfed in happiness as much as possible. This is a sappy post for sure, but tell me I’m wrong.

Ok now on to the tunes.

Shook – Something About You

Together – So Much Love to Give (Viceroy Remix)

Daft Punk – Something About Us (Cherokee Remix)

Blackmill – Light

Jill Scott – Love Rain (Signal To One Remix)
