The Mekanism first appeared in Paris in the summer of 2011. His raw deep house sound saw releases with some of the world’s finest electronic labels like Needwant, Noir, Electronique and Under the Shade.
Since that summer, he has been playing a mix of deep house and disco in the UK, Russia, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium and at Space, Ibiza. Here’s his remix of a fiiiine Mario Basanov track which has been featured here before.

Plastic Plates has just released two new remixes… yezzir! He drops some fresh tropical vibes on the Van She track, ‘Jamaica’ and then drops some uplifting beats on Sneaky Sound System’s ‘Friends.’
He’s on the east coast now still going strong after The Magician, who had been part of the tour, had to pack up and head back to Europe. For all those who were going to see The Magician and thought maybe they should stay home, please do the opposite. I’ve seen him throw down in person. It’s one hell of a feel good dance party. GO!

Catchy bass lines, intergalactic synths, and almost humorous samples make up Mirror People’s remix of an Adamski tune. Rui Maia, the ‘hands’ behind the Mirror People, grew up in Porto, Portugal. He started to play drums & guitar at 6, seduced by the sounds of Joy Division, Love & Rockets and David Bowie. A decade later he bought his first synthesizer and found new heroes – Air, Stereolab & Add n to (X). Following the release of X-Wife’s debut record – where Rui plays synthesizers & electronics, he decided to develop his DJ & studio production skills.

It’s May 11th and you know what that means?!?! Absolutely nothing, but it is a Friday and I have two tracks that were released today. We’re rolling with the freshy tropical vibe today.
First up we have a new A.N.D.Y. and Vicente tune that runs strong with the beach and is giving some Nu Disco flare by Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver. Holy snyth bass batman. This one is just perfect for the dancefloor. I love the orginal tune, but this suits my Friday sunshine mood much more. The label, Discotexas (of Lisbon, Portugal) does it again. One of the best out there.
The second track is another remix that’s been blessed by the disco gods. A classic Tina Turner jam is given the horizontal disco treatment from Zimmer. If you don’t know this Parisian I suggest you visit his soundcloud page. TinaTURNUP!!!
This is the kind of housey-disco shit I love… so melodic. You can hear right away that this is something you’d hear in a Magician mixtape. Pat Lok comes from Vancouver so he’s right up north eh.
He’s shared the stage with some of my personal favorites including Bloc Party, Fred Falke, Alan Braxe, Junkie XL, The Twelves, Breakbot, GRUM, Classixx, Friendly Fires, Don Diablo, and Alex Metric. Enjoy.
Pat Lok – Remember
Gigamesh’s tune, When You’re Dancing, has a new video and it’s sexy cool. I’ve posted a ton of the Minneapolis based producer/dj before, but never before has there been an incredible video that helps us visually imagine the intergalactic ear sex released upon us. Also check out remixes from RAC and Moullinex. As much as I love RAC, I’ve gotta say I enjoy the Moullinex one the most out of these two.
